Abstract:
This work describes the experience gained in the execution of the first phase of the Safety Culture Enhancement Programme being carried out in the IEA-R1 Research Reactor, at IPEN-CNEN/SP. This phase covered a period from September 2002 to September 2007. The methodology applied and the main results achieved in the implementation of the first phase of the safety culture enhancement programme are presented. The methodology consisted of the following steps: a) safety culture assessment, using three different approaches; b) elaboration of an action plan; c) implementation of the action plan aiming at the enhancement of safety culture in the organization.
